Born and raised in Toronto, Alison has been carrying around a camera for half a lifetime now. In addition to photography, Alison is working on a new body of paintings, focusing on acrylic abstraction. Alison relies on an intuitive visual aesthetic and is especially drawn to colour, composition, patterns, and juxtaposition. In 2010, Alison wrapped a year-long project programming a multi disciplinary arts lineup at Snowball Gallery & Workshop, where she served as Founder and Director. Prior to that, Alison worked as an Institutional Equities Trader at TD Newcrest after graduating with a B.Comm. from Dalhousie University. Alison is currently enrolled in OCAD U’s M.A. in Contemporary Art History program and she continues work as an independent artist, writer, and curator.
